This is Minesweeper the way it should feel: calm, focused, and beautiful. Forget the harsh grids of old Windows Minesweeper — this version runs entirely in your browser with a warm stone-and-terracotta design inspired by the 2048 tile aesthetic. No download, no login, no pop-ups blocking the board. Just open the page and start playing.

Choose your difficulty: Beginner (9×9, 10 mines) for a relaxing warm-up, Intermediate (16×16, 40 mines) for a satisfying mid-session challenge, or Expert (30×16, 99 mines) if you want the full mental workout. Your best times are saved locally in the leaderboard — no account needed.

HOW TO PLAY MINESWEEPER

Left click to reveal a cell. Right click to place a flag on a suspected mine. Double click a revealed number to chord-reveal all its neighbours once you've flagged the right count. Your first click is always safe — mines are placed after you click, so you'll never lose on move one.

The numbers tell you how many mines touch that cell. Work outward from the edges, look for 1-2-1 patterns along walls, and flag aggressively to keep count. The mine counter at the top updates as you flag, and the timer starts on your first click.

DUAL MODE — ONE PLAYER, TWO BOARDS

Dual Mode is the unique twist that sets this apart from every other free Minesweeper online. Instead of playing one board to completion, you alternate between Board A and Board B — two identical grids, one countdown timer per turn. Click any cell on either board to begin. Make your move, and the turn switches automatically.

Score +1 point for every safe cell you reveal. Hit a mine and lose −1 point. Run out of time on your turn and it switches to the other board anyway — so there's always pressure to act decisively. The player who clears more safe cells across both boards wins. It's a completely new way to experience Minesweeper: strategic, fast-paced, and surprisingly replayable.

Set your preferred difficulty and turn time (10 s, 15 s, 20 s, or 30 s) before starting. The match ends when both boards are cleared or fully exploded.
